Closest show finder
Choose your town or city and see which of the ten Come Fry With Me venues is nearest, sorted by straight-line distance, with the dates and a link to each venue page.
Where are you travelling from?
How to use the finder
- Pick the town or city you will travel from. If yours is not listed, choose the nearest larger one.
- Read the list from the top: the first venue is the closest in a straight line.
- Open the venue page for dates, doors times, travel notes and ticket links.
- Then check a real journey planner for your route before you commit.
How it works
The tool measures the great-circle distance between your chosen place and each venue using the haversine formula. In plain English, it treats the Earth as a sphere with a radius of about 3,959 miles and works out the shortest path along its surface between two latitude and longitude points. It then sorts the ten venues by that distance.
The coordinates for the 68 places and the ten venues are approximate (rounded to a couple of decimal places, so within about a kilometre). That is plenty for straight-line distances in miles but not for navigation. Straight-line distance is not travel time: a hill, a river, a missing rail link or a motorway can make a shorter-looking trip slower than a longer one.
Worked examples
From Leeds
From Leeds the nearest venue is Manchester's O2 Apollo at about 36 miles, then Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall at about 61 and Newcastle's City Hall at about 81. Manchester has two nights (21 and 22 October 2027), so you have a backup if one sells out.
From Glasgow
The Edinburgh Playhouse is by far the nearest venue at about 42 miles; Newcastle is next at about 120. Edinburgh has two nights, on 7 and 8 October 2027, so if one sells out the other is the natural backup.
From Exeter
Cardiff's New Theatre is nearest at about 55 miles, with Bath's Forum next at about 69. Each is a single night (13 and 14 October 2027), so it pays to check both before choosing.

Tips and common mistakes
- Do not choose purely on distance: check train direct services and parking before deciding.
- Two-night cities (Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester and London) give you a second chance if the first night is sold out.
- Compare the dates: a weeknight show may be far easier to book than a Friday.
- Remember the way home: late trains and last buses vary by city, so check them before you buy.
- If two venues are close in distance, pick the one with the best public transport link.
Who this is for
- People living between venues who are not sure which date to target.
- Anyone planning a day trip who wants the shortest journey.
- Families and groups comparing a weekend away with a local show.

Questions about this tool
How does the closest show finder work?
You choose your town or city and the tool measures the straight-line distance from it to each of the 10 tour venues, then lists them nearest first with their dates.
Is the distance a driving or train distance?
No. It is the straight-line distance in miles, sometimes called as the crow flies. Real journeys are longer and depend on roads and rail links, so use it to shortlist venues, then check a journey planner.
My town is not in the list. What should I do?
Pick the nearest larger town or city in the list. The distances are approximate to a few miles, so a nearby choice gives a very similar answer.
Is the nearest venue always the best choice?
Not always. A slightly further venue with a direct train, easy parking or a date that suits you can be a better choice. Compare dates, travel time and cost.
Does the tool know if a show is sold out?
No. It only measures distance and shows scheduled dates. Check the seller's page for availability before you plan travel.
Is my location sent to a server?
No. You pick a place from a list and the maths runs in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.
