How to avoid ticket scams
With popular shows, ticket fraud increases. Here is how to recognise a legitimate seller, spot a scam and protect your money when buying Come Fry With Me tickets.
Buy from official sellers only
The safest way to buy tickets for the Come Fry With Me tour is through an official seller listed on the venue or promoter page. For most dates that means Ticketmaster UK. Newcastle and Manchester dates are also available through Live Nation UK and Academy Music Group. London is sold through the Eventim Apollo's own website and Ticketmaster.
If a date is sold out on the official seller, use the seller's own resale route or a face-value fan-to-fan platform such as Twickets.
Warning signs of a scam
- Payment by bank transfer: a legitimate seller never asks you to pay by bank transfer. Use a credit or debit card for buyer protection.
- Prices far above face value: if someone is charging several times the original price, walk away. Legitimate resale at face value exists.
- Screenshots instead of transferred tickets: a screenshot of a ticket is not a ticket. Insist on a proper transfer through the seller's platform.
- Unfamiliar website or social media seller: check the domain carefully. Scammers use domains that look similar to official sites. Look for HTTPS, a UK company address and clear terms.
- Pressure to buy quickly: scammers create urgency. A real ticket will still be there in five minutes.
What to do if you have been scammed
- Contact your bank or card provider to dispute the payment.
- Report the seller to Action Fraud, the UK's national fraud reporting centre.
- Report the listing to the platform where you found it (social media, marketplace, etc.).
- Keep all messages, emails and payment receipts as evidence.

Questions
How can I tell if a ticket seller is legitimate?
Buy from the official seller linked on the venue or promoter page. Legitimate sellers have a UK company address, clear terms and conditions, and charge through a standard payment gateway. Never pay by bank transfer to an individual.
What is face-value resale?
Face-value resale means selling a ticket at the price originally paid, not above it. Platforms like Twickets only allow listings at or below face value, which protects buyers from inflated prices.
What should I do if I have been scammed?
Contact your bank or card provider immediately to dispute the payment. Report the seller to Action Fraud (actionfraud.police.uk) and to the platform where you found them. Keep all messages and payment receipts.
Are there official resale routes for the Come Fry With Me tour?
If the event organiser enables it, Ticketmaster offers a built-in resale option in your account. Twickets is a separate face-value platform. Check the seller's page for your specific date.
